The great grandson of Ggjergj Kastrioti (George Castrioti), the Albanian Hero and legendary commander visited Dibra e madhe recently.
Georgo Maria Kastriota currently resides in Napoli, Italy. He is the 14th generation of the legendary Albanian Hero. "I have come to my house" he declared in Dibra.
It is widely accepted that George Kastrioti was from the Dibra area. It was in Dibra where he first returned to Albania and with 300 Dibran reinforcements he began his journey to Kruja and to the heroic 20 year resistance to the Ottoman Empire.
